Our priest is the Rev. Dr. James Cavanah. Jim is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He received his B.A. degree from Armstrong State College (now Armstrong Atlantic State University) in Savannah. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi and a doctorate (Th.D.) from Evangel Christian University. In additoin, Jim holds a Certificate of Study from Ligonier Study Center and has engaged in post-graduate work at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.
Jim is married to Dawn and they have five children: Jarrad, Dustin, Jami, Nick, and Joshua. They also have a miniature Schnauzer, Mali. Jim enjoys genealogy and the study of American history, especially the "War for Southern Independence". He is an avid reenactor and "living historian" who volunteers his time with the National Park Service and Georgia State Parks. He is widely known for his lectures and presentations on Civil War Medicine and the influence of religion (18th century use of the word for "Christianity") in the South.
